AIGA NY, the non-for-profit and professional association for design, “elevates designers and the role of design” through education, advocacy, and building a community that discusses the future of their craft.
In 2016, after the presidential election, AIGA NY created Citizen Designer Now!, a space to think and have a dialogue about the role that design plays in society and the transformations that can be achieved through this profession. They distribute a free guide featuring “Tactics For Using Design in Civic Engagement” and they announce in their statement:
NYXT visited with them during one of their events at the Museum of Arts and Design, that was moderated by designer and AIGA NY board member Jessie McGuire.
Through their videos, AIGA NY shares the experiences of different designers and their influences.
